art journals

This workshop will involve building a book, based on your own theme and design. I’ll demonstrate a versatile cover design, which you can paint and decorate in your own way.
We will experiment with a selection of my favourite methods of applying surface design, imagery, text, and embellishment on the pages.
And we’ll look at some examples and exercises in collage, and in mind mapping, to help you with the development of your ideas and designs.

Lesson Plan

We will be making books 150 X 150 mm, with paper covered boards.
Additional decoration can be achieved by stitching or gluing on objects such as beads, feathers, pictures, whatever you like. Give this some thought and bring stuff!
I will provide all the materials for the books : boards, cover papers, paper for pages, thread, bookbinders glue, etc.
You can bring along any of your own papers and stuff that you want to include in the books as well.
I also provide the essential equipment.
There will be a charge of $15 to cover the stuff that I provide.
